NFL: Ex-Giants star Ingram faces new charges in NY

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. — Former New York Giants wide receiver Mark Ingram is facing a bail-jumping charge.
Ingram, a star on the 1991 Super Bowl championship team, is accused of failing to report to a federal prison in early December. He was to begin serving more than seven years on a money laundering and bank fraud conviction.
Ingram pleaded not guilty to the latest charge Thursday in federal court in Central Islip and is due back in court on March 27.
Ingram had sought to delay his prison term to watch his son play his freshman football season at the University of Alabama. When that request was denied, the former wide receiver allegedly went on the lam.
He was arrested Jan. 2 in a Michigan motel room, hours before Alabama played in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.
