Pitchford returns to Saint Louis School for 'Footloose'

Saint Louis School alum Dean Pitchford, who wrote and created "Footloose," is returning to the school in March for the school's latest presentation of the hit musical.
The play opens March 6 at the Dr. Richard T. Mamiya Theatre on the school's campus and runs Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. through March 22, and 4 p.m. Sundays through March 22.
Tickets are $22 for adults, $18 for students, military and seniors and $15 for children12 and younger.

Pitchford graduated from Saint Louis in 1968. His return is scheduled for March 7 for the 8th Annual Drama Gala Premiere Night, which is a benefit celebration of the Fine Arts Drama Program at Saint Louis School. Pitchford recently attended the Grammy Awards for a Spoken Word nomination of his children's book "The Big One-Oh!"
"Footloose", which garnered Pitchford nominations for an Oscar, Golden Globe and a pair of Grammy Awards in 1984, was turned into a Broadway musical in 1998 and is celebrating its 10th Anniversary on stage.
The stage version received four Tony Award nominations including Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score.
