Tennis: Spain's Robredo wins title in Argentina

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina — Tommy Robredo of Spain rallied to defeat Juan Monaco 7-5, 2-6, 7-6 (5) in the finals of the Copa Telmex and won his second tournament in as many weeks.
The match was played under threatening clouds on a slow clay court, drenched by a heavy overnight downpour. Robredo won the first set before a rain delay of 1 hour, 40 minutes.
The break seemed to help Monaco, who cruised through the second set. In the third-set tiebreaker, Robredo took a 6-2 lead.
"It's been a difficult tournament with changing conditions all the time," Robredo said of the wind and blistering heat. "It's the first time I've finished with my shoes full of water."
Robredo won his ninth career title, including a victory at the Brazilian Open last week.
"I hope to continue the streak in Acapulco next week," Robredo said.
