CBKB: X-ray's negative; Davidson's Curry day-to-day

By MIKE CRANSTON

DAVIDSON, N.C. — X-rays on Davidson star guard Stephen Curry's injured left ankle are negative and the nation's leading scorer will be listed as day-to-day.

Coach Bob McKillop said Sunday that Curry will not practice on Monday, but no determination has been made for Wednesday's game against The Citadel.

Curry was injured when he stepped on the foot of a Furman player on a drive to the basket in the second half of Saturday's victory over the Paladins. He left the arena on crutches.

Curry, the darling of last season's NCAA tournament in leading Davidson within a missed 3-pointer of the Final Four, is averaging 29 points and 5.8 assists. He has twice scored more than 40 points in a game this season and is shooting 39 percent from 3-point range.
