ARE, Sweden— Alexandre Bilodeau capped a perfect weekend by winning the men's dual moguls, and Hannah Kearney topped the women's event at a World Cup freestyle meet today.
Kearney beat Aiko Uemura in the women's final and gave the American 570 points atop the women's standings. Jennifer Heil, the 2006 Olympic moguls gold medalist from Canada, wound up ninth. She lost ground on Kearney in the moguls standings, but remains second at 484 points.
Uemura, the defending World Cup moguls champion from Japan, is fourth overall with 339 points. Last year, Uemura won both events here to clinch the moguls crown.
Margarita Marbler of Austria placed third and stayed in third place overall with 349 points.
Bilodeau, who led a Canadian podium sweep in the individual moguls Friday, beat Guilbaut Colas of France in the men's final to close in on the moguls title.
It was the third straight win in moguls — individual or dual — for the 21-year-old Bilodeau, who won another World Cup event last weekend at West Vancouver, British Columbia.
Maxime Gingras, another Canadian, beat Sho Kashima of the United States for third place.
With the win, Bilodeau moved to 590 points atop the moguls standings. Colas stayed in second with 434. Vincent Marquis of Canada, who finished ninth, has 277 points in third place. Only two events remain on the schedule. Each win is worth 100 points.
Canadian-born Dale Begg Smith of Australia, the 2006 men's Olympic gold medalist who clinched the World Cup moguls title here last year, did not compete.
