The University of Hawaii men's basketball team showed that there's a big difference between seventh place and last place in a 69-43 rout of Fresno State tonight.

A "White-Out" crowd of 3,234 at the Stan Sheriff Center watched the Rainbow Warriors improved to 11-11 overall and 3-7 in the Western Athletic Conference.

The Bulldogs dropped to 9-14 and 1-7.

Hawaii is tied for seventh place in the nine-team WAC. Fresno State is in ninth.

Roderick Flemings had 14 points, 13 rebounds and four assists to lead the Hawaii rout.

Kareem Nitoto added 12 points and six rebounds, and Bill Amis contributed 10 points for the 'Bows.

It was a blowout from the start.

Hawaii raced to a 16-1 lead to open the game and never looked back.

The Bulldogs missed their first nine shots of the game, and their first field goal came with 10:27 remaining in the first half.

The 'Bows eventually took a 34-10 lead at intermission. Fresno State went 3 of 25 from the field for a .120 percentage.

Hawaii went 15 of 33 from the field for a .455 percentage, and also out-rebounded the Bulldogs, 28-11.

Flemings had eight points, nine rebounds and three assists to lead the 'Bows in the first half.

The closest Fresno State got in the second half was 44-25 with 13:14 remaining.

The only concern for Hawaii in the second half came when Amis limped off the court with an apparent foot or ankle injury. He sat out the final 16 minutes of the game, but was walking on his own power after the game.

The 'Bows finished with a .509 field goal percentage, and out-rebounded the Bulldogs 49-22.

Fresno State finished with a .269 field goal percentage. Paul George led the Bulldogs with 13 points.

Hawaii will play another WAC game tomorrow, when it hosts Idaho at the Sheriff Center. The game will start at 6:05 p.m. — one hour earlier than originally scheduled to accommodate Idaho's travel plans.
