Hawaiian Airlines pilots are stepping up their push for a new contract after almost two years of negotiations.

The Air Line Pilots Association says it is taking the cause to the streets of San Diego, home of Ranch Capital LLC, controlling partner in the airline.

Hawaiian emerged from bankruptcy protection in 2005 under the company.

The pilots have rented a rolling billboard that says: "Hawaiian Airlines: zero percent on-time performance ... in settling pilot negotiations." It says two years without a contract is too long.

The union says the billboard will appear repeatedly outside Ranch Capital's headquarters and the San Diego hotel where the company's board is meeting.

An call seeking comment from Ranch Capital wasn't immediately returned.
