Top-ranked UConn women stay unbeaten

WASHINGTON — Tina Charles scored 17 points and top-ranked Connecticut remained unbeaten with an 80-61 victory over Georgetown yesterday.
Tiffany Hayes, Renee Montgomery and Maya Moore each added 14 points for UConn (21-0, 7-0 Big East), which has held the No. 1 spot since the preseason.
UConn trailed with 6 1/2 minutes left in the first half, but put the game away with a 38-5 run that stretched across halftime, ending with 21 straight points by the Huskies in the second half.
Georgetown (13-8, 3-5) has not beaten Connecticut since Feb. 27, 1993, a streak of 22 losses.
No. 2 Oklahoma 78, Missouri 56: Courtney Paris had 10 points and 11 rebounds to extend her NCAA-record streak of consecutive double-doubles to 112 games, leading the host Sooners (18-2, 7-0 Big 12) past the Tigers (10-10, 1-6).
No. 6 Louisville 81, Providence 49: Angel McCoughtry poured in 43 points to become the school's all-time career scoring leader as the visiting Cardinals (20-2, 7-1 Big East) routed the Friars (8-13, 2-6).
No. 7 California 73, Southern California 71: Ashley Walker had 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Devanei Hampton scored on a layup with 2.2 seconds remaining as the Golden Bears (18-2, 9-0 Pac-10) beat the Trojans (11-9, 5-4) to tie a school record with their 10th consecutive win.
