NBA: Celtics Garnett misses game against former team
Associated Press
BOSTON — Kevin Garnett missed Sunday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves with a high fever, and Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers said the All-Star forward will probably miss Tuesday night's game against the Philadelphia 76ers as well.
"He's sick. He's really bad. His fever's really high," Rivers said. "He's not playing today. He's probably not playing Tuesday. For him to be out of any game, especially today, he's got to be pretty sick."
It's the second time in four games Garnett has had to sit out against the team he played with for the first 12 years of his career. Last year, he was out with an abdominal strain when the Celtics went to Minnesota for the first time since he was traded to Boston.
Glen "Big Baby" Davis started in his place.
