Da Hui Backdoor Shootout will hold opening ceremony for its annual surf competition at 9 a.m. Jan. 2 at Ehukai Beach Park.

Tom Pohaku Stone will host the event and surfers are welcome to bring their boards for the paddle out.
The holding period for the 7th Annual Da Hui Backdoor Shootout 2010 is Jan. 4 to 14 and will be held at Backdoor Pipeline, Ehukai Beach Park when conditions are right. Competitions, when running, are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The 2009 Shootout did not run due to poor surf conditions but favorable conditions are expected this year.
Competitors of this event are mostly Hawaiçi professional or amateur surfers.
