Special Olympics receives $10,000 from Shuler group
Special Olympics Hawai'i has received a $10,000 donation from the Schuler Family Foundation.
"The Schuler Family Foundation strongly believes in supporting our local athletes and helping them to pursue their goals both on and off the field," said James Schuler, chairman of the foundation. "We are thrilled to be able to give to Special Olympics Hawai'i, which does such important work providing sports competition opportunities for our local athletes with intellectual disabilities."
Special Olympics Hawai'i provides year-round sports training opportunities to hundreds of athletes around the state at no cost to athletes or their families. The average cost to provide one athlete with sports training and competition is about $1,044 a year.
