Earlier this month, South Korea held its Oscar night equivalent — the Blue Dragon Film Awards ceremony. The results were unsurprising:

Best film: "Mother" (Honolulu International Film Festival opening night film 2009) took the honors this year over fellow blockbusters "Thirst," "Haeundae" and "Take Off."

Best director: Yong-hwa Kim for "Take Off."

Best new director: Hyung-chul Kang for "Scandal Makers" (HIFF 2009).

Best actor: Myung-min Kim (Gen. Yi Soon Shin) in "Closer to Heaven."

Best actress: Ha Ji-won (HIFF 2006) in "Closer to Heaven."

Best screenplay: Yong-joo Lee for "Possessed."

Best cinematography: Hyun-chul Park for "Take Off."

Best music: Yeong Ok Cho for "Thirst."

Best technical: "Haeundae" for special effects.

A special award honored actress Jang Jin-young ("Lobby-ist SBS," "Between Love and Hate," "Blue Swallow"). Jang lost her battle with stomach cancer this year. She won as best actress in 2001 for "Sorum" and in 2003 for "Singles."

Coming at the end of this month are the South Korean TV Networks awards, equivalent to the U.S. Emmys. You can take a look back at this year's TV hits on SBS, KBS and MBC and hope your favorite actor and actress win.

'Smile, Honey'
Episodes 11 and 12
Tonight at 7:45 p.m.: Geumja sees Sanghoon alone with Joohee, making a fool of himself trying to make her laugh. When Sanghoon comes to see her, Geumja makes him sing and dance, but gets upset when he does so half-heartedly. Hyunsu catches Jungin snooping around the house. Tomorrow at 7:45 p.m.: Geumja accuses Sanghoon and Joohee of having an affair, and confronts them in front of the whole family. Junggil is offended that Joohee would have an affair with someone like Sanghoon. Offended by Junggil's remark, Geumja tells him she saw Joohee flirting with Sanghoon.
'Love You 1,000 Times'
Episodes 7 and 8
Sunday at 6:45 p.m.: Se-hoon finds out Sun-young was faking her pregnancy. Outraged when he hears a surrogate is carrying his child, he storms out of the house and goes to see Yeon-hee. Eun-nim feels a strong bond with her baby, and is depressed because she can't keep the child. Sunday at 7:45 p.m.: Eun-nim has the baby. She tries to keep it, but he's taken away. Se-hoon's mother manages to send the whole family away so the baby can come home. Everyone dotes on the baby. Sun-young feels pangs of guilt. Gang-ho finishes his MBA and comes home. So does Chul.
'Angel's Temptation'
Episodes 7 and 8
Monday at 7:45 p.m.: After changing his looks completely with plastic surgery, Hyun-woo changes his name to Ahn Jae-sung and meets Joo Aran. Sang-mo begs Aran to move out of her in-laws' house and marry him, but she rejects him. Woo-sub plans to adopt Joo-seung and have him run the furniture business. Tuesday at 7:45 p.m.: Aran falls off a horse and spends a night at a cabin with Jae-sung. Jae-sung calls Joo-seung and taunts him that he's with Aran. Jae-hee confesses her love for Jae-sung, but he tells her he can't think about anything but his revenge.
'He's Beautiful'
Episodes 7 and 8
Wednesday at 7:45 p.m.: Minham's shocked to see Taekyung kissing Youie. President Ahn officially admits to the reporters that Youie and Taekyung are dating. Minam and Taekyung go to Minam's hometown on her father's memorial day. Hwaran goes to the graveyard to visit the man who composed her favorite song. Thursday at 7:45 p.m.: Jeremy, seeing that Minam is not in a good mood even though she finished her first recording successfully, decides to throw her a party. Taekyung goes to meet Hwaran on his birthday, but Hwaran is waiting for him with a reporter interested in their new remake song. Hwaran pretends to be close to Taekyung in front of the reporter and upsets Taekyung.
