A 49-year-old Aiea Heights man was arrested at his Kaulainahee Place home last night after allegedly beating his 85-year-old grandmother.

Police said the grandson called afterward to report the incident. They said the woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The grandson was arrested at the scene without incident. Police did not say what triggered the incident.
