CFB: Cincinnati coach Kelly will talk to players privately about ND

CINCINNATI — The University of Cincinnati has barred the media from its annual football banquet, where coach Brian Kelly is expected to tell players about his talks with Notre Dame.
The university changed its media plans Thursday afternoon, a few hours before the banquet. Kelly interviewed with Notre Dame officials this week about becoming Charlie Weis’ successor.
The Notre Dame job has always been one of Kelly’s favorites, although he would likely want changes in the program in order for him to leave Cincinnati. The fourth-ranked Bearcats (12-0) won their second straight Big East title and will play Florida in the Sugar Bowl.
