Big Island, Kauai home sales climbed in November
Home sales in Hawaiçi and Kauaçi counties rose during November, according to a new report from Hawaii Information Service.
There were 113 sales of previously owned single family houses on the Big Island during the month, or 66 percent more than a year earlier.
The median sales price was $290,000, or 2.7 percent more than November 2008.
The figures also show 24 condominiums sold on the Big Island at a median price of $208,000.
The condominium sales volume was unchanged from a year earlier, while the median price was down 8 percent to $208,000.
On Kauaçi there were 23 sales of single family homes, or 53 percent more.
The median price was $442,000. That was 28 percent less than in November 2008.
Kauaçi condominium pruchases rose to 15, or 114 percent more than a year earlier.
The median price fell 29 percent to $300,000.
