CFB: Stanford’s Luck injured, out for Sun Bowl

HOUSTON — Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck is recovering from surgery on a broken finger and will not play Dec. 31 against Oklahoma in the Sun Bowl.
Oliver Luck says his son broke the index finger on his throwing hand during Stanford’s 45-38 victory over Notre Dame on Nov. 28.
Luck on Monday told KRIV-TV in Houston, where the family is from, that his son did not realize he had injured his right hand until after the game.
The father says Andrew Luck had surgery Dec. 1 in California.
Oliver Luck says the “rehab time is sufficiently long, that his season is over” and that the redshirt freshman is expected to fully recover.
Oliver Luck is president and general manager of Major League Soccer’s Houston Dynamo.
The Sun Bowl is in El Paso.
