Nevada to play SMU in Sheraton Hawaii Bowl Dec. 24

The University of Nevada will play Southern Methodist University in the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl on Christmas Eve.
The 8-4 Wolf Pack will represent the Western Athletic Conference in the Dec. 24 bowl after Hawai'i failed to become bowl eligible. The Warriors fell to 6-7 with a 51-10 loss to Wisconsin Saturday night.
That prevented a much-anticipated matchup with SMU, which is coached by June
Jones, who remains UH's winningest coach.
SMU is 7-5 after having finished in second place in its division of Conference USA.
