NFL: Houston’s Schaub leaves game with shoulder injury
Associated Press
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Quarterback Matt Schaub has returned to Houston’s game at Jacksonville after getting treatment for a shoulder injury.
Schaub hurt his left shoulder on the Texans’ first play Sunday. After getting sacked by Derrick Harvey, Schaub stayed on the ground as trainers rushed onto the field. Schaub eventually walked off without any help, but spent just a few minutes on the bench before heading to the locker room for tests.
He returned late in the second quarter, with the Texans trailing 17-0.
Rex Grossman replaced Schaub and threw an interception on his second attempt. Grossman was 3 of 9 for 33 yards when Schaub returned.
Schaub’s injury comes on a day when the Texans were already playing without running back Steve Slaton, who sat out with a shoulder injury.
