Sixteen-year-old boy injured in early morning car crash
A 16-year-old boy was in critical condition yesterday after he was thrown from a car that crash early yesterday in Waimanalo. Speed and alcohol are suspected of playing a role in the crash, police said.
The boy was in the rear seat of a 1998 Honda Accord driven by a 16-year-old Waimanalo girl when the car hit a utility pole and a tree at 1:04 a.m., police said.
The boy was thrown from the car. He was taken to the Queen's Medical Center, as was the girl driving the car, who was listed in good condition.
A front-seat passenger also was taken to Queen's in good condition, police said.
