RED BOILING SPRINGS, Tenn. — The Red Boiling Springs high school football team is getting an extra week to enjoy a rare victory.
The team beat visiting Oakdale 28-12 last week, snapping a 61-game losing streak.
The Bulldogs were not scheduled to play Friday night.
"Everybody's ecstatic, happy," principal Don Jones told The Tennessean newspaper. "It was a happy weekend. We'll just try not to let our heads swell too much. We're looking forward to winning some more."
The Bulldogs play again Sept. 4 against visiting Pickett County.
The school in Macon County in a one-time resort town also lost 63 straight games during the 1990s.
