Kapolei library anniversary festivites start today

Kapolei Public Library is marking its fifth anniversary with a celebration through Saturday, that includes crafts for kids, a magic show, Okinawan dances, chamber music and free movie rentals
• Teens can make a beaded “book thong” at several sessions, with all materials included: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Aug. 27-28; 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 25-26; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29.
• Balloon Monsoon will give a magic show at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25.
• “Dances of Okinawa” will feature dance, music and song at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26.
• Chamber Music Hawaii’s Spring Wind Quintet will perform at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29.
• Free DVD rentals will be available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, for those with an active state library card.
• A book sale from the Friends of Kapolei Library, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, on the library lawn.
