Foodland Super Market will match donations of its customers starting tomorrow until Aug. 31 to help the Hawai'i High School Athletic Association's "Save Our Sports" program.

Foodland, Hawai'i's largest locally owned and operated grocery retailer, will match customers' contributions dollar for dollar of any amount up to $249 at checkout stands at any Foodland and Sack N Save stores statewide.

Customers may make a donation with cash, check, debit card or credit card. The amount donated will appear on the customer's receipt. Donations are tax deductible.

After Aug. 31, Foodland will match the total collected from its customers up to $50,000.

"We were saddened to hear about the recent budget cuts to Hawai'i's public schools athletic programs and we want to do what we can to support our schools and community," said Jenai S. Wall, Foodland chairman and CEO.

For information, go to www.sportshigh.com or call 732-0791 (Foodland) or 587-4495.

SAT/ACT SOFTWARE AVAILABLE FOR FREE

The Warrick Dunn SAT/ACT Prep program, which pays for the software for high school students to prepare for the SAT/ACT tests, is available for all Hawai'i high school students.

The software, which is about $200, is free because of the program sponsored by Dunn's foundation and eKnowledge.

To learn more about the sponsorship or to obtain a free SAT/ACT PowerPrep Program, go to www.eknowledge.com/nfl. Enter sponsorship code: 3938BF4F0C. This code is exclusive to The Honolulu Advertiser.

The sponsorship originally was for students with a military connection but was not available to all high school students.

Dunn is a former Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back.

HOW TO HELP

The Hawai'i High School Athletic Association is collecting contributions to help offset budget cuts at the state's public schools.

If you want to help, make checks payable to "HHSAA SOS Account," and send it to HHSAA, P.O. Box 62029, Honolulu, HI 96839.

For information, e-mail info@hhsaa.org or call HHSAA at 587-4495. Contributions also can be made at www.sportshigh.com or First Hawaiian Bank (checks only) for the campaign running through Sept. 30.

The Honolulu Advertiser plans to publish names of donors to the HHSAA's Save Our Sports fundraising drive. Much like The Advertiser's annual Christmas Fund, donors' names and the amounts given will be listed. Anonymous donations will be listed as such.
