CFB: Nebraska coach Pelini dismisses I-back Castille

Associated Press

OMAHA, Neb. — Running back Quentin Castille has been dismissed from the Nebraska football program for violating unspecified team rules.

Coach Bo Pelini did not elaborate on the violations committed by the junior from La Porte, Texas. Pelini announced the dismissal following the No. 24 Cornhuskers' practice on Saturday, even though Castille has not practice with the team for several days.

The 6-1, 235-pound Castille was expected to be a key player for Nebraska this season, battling with Roy Helu Jr. to start at running back.

Last season, Castille averaged 4.4 yards a carry, scored six TDs and ran for a career-high 125 yards against Clemson in the Gator Bowl.
