NFL: Napa police reopen Raiders investigation

Associated Press

NAPA, Calif. — The Napa police department says it is reopening its investigation into an attack that left Oakland Raiders assistant coach Randy Hanson with a broken bone in his face from an alleged fight with another member of the coaching staff.

The police said earlier this week that the case was closed because the victim was unwilling to cooperate. On Friday, the department announced that it had been reopened, apparently after Hanson agreed to cooperate with authorities.
Internet reports have said head coach Tom Cable attacked Hanson on Aug. 5 at the Raiders training camp hotel in Napa, sending Hanson to the hospital. Cable said earlier this week that “nothing happened.”
The NFL is already looking into the case to determine if Cable violated the league’s personal conduct policy.
