Tennessee man pleads not guilty for gun in McNair case

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A convicted murderer has pleaded not guilty in Tennessee to selling a gun that was used to kill former NFL quarterback Steve McNair.
Adrian Gilliam of La Vergne was charged last month with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Court documents say he admitted selling a loaded 9 mm pistol for $100 to McNair's mistress, Sahel Kazemi.
Nashville police said the woman used the weapon to kill McNair and herself on July 4.
Police said Kazemi met Gilliam while she was trying to sell her car.
Prosecutors say Gilliam was convicted in 1993 in Florida on murder and attempted armed robbery charges.
Prosecutors expect a district judge to set a trial date soon.
McNair retired from the NFL last year after playing for the Tennessee Titans and the Baltimore Ravens.
