Officials from the U.S. Marine Corps have scheduled a press conference this afternoon to address huge problems concertgoers experienced last night when trying to attend the Black Eyed Peas concert at BayFest at Marine Corps Bay Hawaii.
The Advertiser has received e-mails and phone calls from people who said they were tied up in traffic for hours trying to enter the base for the 8:30 p.m. concert and missed the show.
Cheryl Reed of Waikiki said her party of five left home at 7 p.m. and never made it to the show, waiting for hours in traffic.
"We were in disbelief," she said today. "We had five people in the car who paid $52 each and we never got to see the show."
The Marine spokesman, who expressed regret at the traffic troubles, said there will be a press conference for the news media at the base at 2 p.m.
