YANKEES
New York third baseman Alex Rodriguez was scratched from the lineup last night against Seattle because of back spasms. He also missed Thursday's victory resting a bruised elbow.
TRADE
The Boston Red Sox reacquired shortstop Alex Gonzalez and cash from the Cincinnati Reds for minor league infielder Kris Negron. Gonzalez, 32, played for Boston in 2006.
RANGERS
Texas reinstating second baseman Ian Kinsler (left hamstring) from the disabled lis, and placed outfielder Nelson Cruz on the 15-day DL with a sprained left ankle.
DIAMONDBACKS
Arizona signed first-round draft pick Bobby Borchering to a minor league contract that includes a $1.8 million signing bonus. The third baseman from Fort Myers, Fla., was the 16th pick overall.
