uBoost giving some teachers free accounts
Honolulu-based uBoost Inc., a student recognition and rewards Web site, said it will give teachers free accounts to the the company's Express Program.
Using the system, teachers from first through seventh grade can award points to students with coupons printed from their computers to recognize appropriate behavior such as attendance, homework completion, improved test scores and class participation.
Students can redeem their points online for virtual room decorations and pets; make charitable donations; and participate in monthly contests to win books, games and DVDs.
