International movie fans can learn more about the Hawaii International Film Festival by joining HIFF staff, the board of directors and Ohana members at the first annual HIFF Members Mixer and Open House.
The free event is open to the public (21 and over), 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 13 at the SOHO Mixed Media Bar, 80 S. Pauahi St., Downtown Honolulu.
HIFF executive director Chuck Boller will welcome guests, followed by a greeting from board of director Owen Ogawa and then the unveiling of several 2009 films by HIFF program director Anderson Le. Ten film trailers will be screened.
Complimentary pupus, a cash bar, a raffle drawing for 10 round-trip interisland tickets on go! Airlines and other prizes and giveaways will be offered.

MEMBERSHIP INCENTIVES

Guests who join as HIFF Ohana Members at the evening's event will receive a discount on membership fees. All who join or renew their HIFF membership through April 31, 2010, will be entered into a raffle to win a trip to the Seattle International Film Festival in June 2010.
