Man, 76, drowns in pool at Poipu resort hotel
A 76-year-old male visitor died yesterday in an apparent drowning at a Poipu resort swimming pool, authorities said.
The drowning occurred at 1:53 p.m.
A bystander saw the man at the bottom of the pool and brought him to the surface. A hotel security guard then started cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
The man was taken to Wilcox Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Kaua'i authorities did not identify the name of the resort.
