Last year: In a marathon Sunday because of rain at Oakland Hills, Harrington overcame a three-shot deficit with nine holes and closed with a 4-under 66 to become the first European ever to win consecutive majors in the same season. Harrington trailed Sergio Garcia until the Spaniard put his approach in the water on the 16th, missed a 4-foot birdie on the 17th and made bogey from the bunker on the 18th. Ben Curtis also had a chance until a bogey on the 17th. He tied for second, two shots behind.
Last time at Hazeltine: Rich Beem made the only eagle of the tournament on the par-5 11th to build a commanding lead in the final round, and hung on for a one-shot victory after Tiger Woods birdied the last four holes.
