"OBSESSED"
Stars: Beyoncé Knowles, Ali Larter, Idris Elba
Format: DVD, Blu-ray
What we said: "The climax arrives in the form of a glorious girl-on-girl smackdown that will someday make a fine clip on YouTube. Until then, do what the actors should've done: hold out for something better."
DVD extras: "Playing Together Nicely," "Girl Fight!" and "Obsessed: Dressed to Kill" featurettes.
Blu-ray extras: The above featurettes plus a digital copy.
Worth watching: "Girl Fight!" shows how the ladies got down with their bad selves.
Worth skipping: "Playing Together Nicely." Nicely? Uh, did you miss our enthusiasm for the "Girl Fight!" featurette?
Worth adding: An alternate ending in which Tyler Perry's Madea shows up and kicks Larter's butt for messing with Beyoncé's man.
Buy, rent or ignore: Rent.
"RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN"
Stars: Dwayne Johnson, AnnaSophia Robb, Carla Gugino
Formats: DVD, two-disc DVD, Blu-ray
What we said: "More like a pile of small, strange rocks that somehow landed in the same hole."
DVD extras: None.
Two-disc DVD: Deleted scenes with optional commentary by Fickman; bloopers; "Dylan & Cole Sprouse: Blu-ray Is Suite"; "Learn How to Take Your Favorite Movies on the Go" featurette; digital copy.
Blu-ray: Two-disc extras plus "Backstage Disney: Which Mountain" featurette; D-Box functions; a DVD of the movie.
Worth watching: Thanks to Johnson's weird sense of humor, the blooper reel is extra good.
Worth skipping: The "Learn How to Take Your Favorite Movies on the Go" featurette. Sure, it might be helpful to those who aren't so technically inclined, but this is as "special" a "special feature" as "Interactive Menus."
Worth adding: A commentary by Fickman, Johnson, the kids and the stars of 1975's "Escape to Witch Mountain" and 1978's "Return From Witch Mountain" — Kim Richards and Ike Eisenmann — who both have cameos in "Race."
Buy, rent or ignore: Rent the two-disc DVD or Blu-ray; ignore the DVD.
