Allison Wong has been named interim director of The Contemporary Museum, the museum's board of trustees announced today.
Wong replaces Georgianna Lagoria, who resigned to relocate to Los Angeles.
"Allison will bring a fresh outlook and energize the museum with bold innovative ideas," board president Violet Loo said in a statement.
Wong was recently hired as director of the Art in Public Places Program and the Hawaii State Art Museum, the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts. Previously, she served as an Art Consultant for The Fine Art Associates.
Wong is familiar to TCM as she held the position of Assistant Curator and Curator of Exhibitions at First Hawaiian Center for more than 10 years.
At TCM she curated over 100 exhibitions of local and national artists and built an extensive art program at TCM at First Hawaiian Center in the heart of downtown Honolulu.
Wong was born and raised in Los Angeles and graduated from Mills College in Oakland, Calif., where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in art history.
