Hawaii perinatal clinic receives $35,000 in grants
The Perinatal Addiction Services of Hawai'i clinic has received grants totaling $35,000 from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs and the Hawaii March of Dimes.
The program, led by John A. Burns School of Medicine assistant professor Tricia Wright, offers obstetric and gynecological care for women struggling with addiction.
The OHA grant of $25,000 is being used to create a Native Hawaiian healing garden for pregnant women and their children. The March of Dimes grant of $10,000 is in keeping with March of Dimes' mission of preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant deaths.
