Youth development group receives $98,488 from OHA
The Office of Hawaiian Affairs has given a Waimanalo group $98,488 for its after-school program.
Hui Malama I Ke Kai Foundation will use the funds to strengthen its programs and cover some of the costs of healthy snacks, transportation, program expansion and administration.
The foundation operates the Hui Malama O Ke Kai and Opio programs that serve the Waimanalo community, providing a violence and substance abuse prevention and youth development program for at-risk or at-promise (children who are not reaching their potential) students in the fifth to ninth grades.
