Rainbows stop San Diego St. in water polo, will play for fifth in MPSF

Samantha Motekatis and Saara Majuri scored goals in the second overtime period to lift sixth-seeded Hawai'i to a 10-9 victory over No. 7 San Diego State in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation women's water polo tournament match at Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex today.
The Rainbow Wahine will play No. 5 San Jose State in the fifth-place match tomorrow.
Hawai'i led 7-4 after three periods, but San Diego State scored four goals to UH's one in the fourth period to tie the match at 8 at the end of regulation.
After a scoreless first overtime period, San Diego State's Ronni Gautschi scored with 2:25 left. Motekatis tied it with 1:08 to go and Majuri scoring the game-winner with 23 seconds left.
Dagmar Genee scored three goals to lead UH, while Gautschi had four goals for the Aztecs.
