Hawaii weather: Heavy rain possible today

An approaching cold front will shift winds from southwest and west ahead of it, to north and northeast after the passage, the National Weather Service said.
Clouds and showers will be possible throughout the week the week, forecasters said.
Locally heavy rainfall will be possible, especially over the central islands tonight and tomorrow.

Today: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. North wind 5 to 9 mph becoming west. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Tonight: Scattered showers. The rain could be heavy at times. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. South wind 7 to 15 mph becoming northeast. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Tuesday: Scattered showers. The rain could be heavy at times. Cloudy, with a high near 79. East wind between 15 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Tuesday Night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. East wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Wednesday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 79. East wind between 7 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Wednesday Night: Scattered showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. East wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
