4,000 expected to take part in Sunday's AIDS walk

The 18th annual Honolulu AIDS walk will take place Sunday in Waikiki.

Some 4,000 people are expected to participate in the walk, which begins at 9 a.m. at Kapi'olani Park. Registration starts at 8 a.m. at the park's bandstand.

There is no entry fee, but participants are asked to get sponsorships from their friends and family. A free trolley to the event will run between Kapi'olani Park and Kapi'olani Community College.

Following the walk, there will be entertainment, a health fair and food. The event is a benefit for the Life Foundation, which provides services for people living with HIV/AIDS and free HIV testing.
