NFL: Niners extend contracts of LB Haralson, K Nedney

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The San Francisco 49ers have extended the contracts of linebacker Parys Haralson and kicker Joe Nedney after strong 2008 seasons by both players.
Haralson received a four-year extension through 2013, and Nedney agreed to a two-year extension through 2011.
Haralson emerged as the 49ers' top pass-rusher last season, getting eight sacks despite playing only sparingly in the season's early games. The former fifth-round pick finished fifth among NFL linebackers in sacks.
Nedney had another steady season for the 49ers, improving to 101-of-115 on field goal attempts since joining the club in 2005. The former San Jose State kicker is the 42nd-leading scorer in NFL history.
