LOS ANGELES — Hundreds of George Harrison's fans and friends, including fellow Beatle Paul McCartney and Tom Petty, turned out yesterday to see a posthumous star for the quiet Beatle unveiled in a raucous celebration on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Harrison died of lung cancer in 2001 at age 58. His widow, Olivia, and son, Dhani, saw the star unveiled in front of the Capitol Records building. Ringo Starr was not there.
AUCTION HOUSE GIVES UP JACKSON CACHE
LOS ANGELES — A collection of Michael Jackson's possessions from Neverland Ranch is safe from the auctioneer's gavel now that the pop singer and Julien's Auction House have reached a settlement in his lawsuit over whether 2,000 items were ever authorized for sale.
Jackson keeps his things, while Julien's keeps its public exhibit, originally meant to promote next week's sale of items the auction house took directly from the ranch.
NEWLY SINGLE LOHAN PLAYS IT FOR LAUGHS
NEW YORK — Gossip tabloid headliner Lindsay Lohan yesterday posted a mock dating service video on the www.FunnyOrDie.com comedy site. The 22-year-old, whose gay relationship just broke up, says she's looking for someone to spend her life with, "or at least the rest of my probation with" — someone who likes long walks on the beach, car chases on the Pacific Coast Highway, "antiquing and passing out in Cadillac Escalades."
'LOST' STAR HOLLOWAY A NEW DADDY
NEW YORK — "Lost" star Josh Holloway is a father.
The 39-year-old actor's publicist says Holloway's wife, Yessica, gave birth to their first child, daughter Java Kumala, April 9 on O'ahu, where the show is shot.
