Zsalei Kamaka squeezed in Saige Manatad with one out in the top of the seventh inning as visiting Kailua beat Castle, 2-1, in an O'ahu Interscholastic Association Eastern Division softball game yesterday.

Kailua's Jaelleen Johnson pitched a one-hitter — a solo homer by Kaitlynn Wills in the second inning — with five strikeouts as the Surfriders handed the Knights their first loss of the season.

In the second game, Castle's Maycee Moe pitched a three-hitter with two walks in a 9-1 victory.

Kailua is 5-3. Castle is 6-1.

The doubleheader was supposed to be played at Central O'ahu Regional Park, but unplayable conditions forced the games to be moved to Castle.

Mikela Manewa drove in Dorian Acierto from third with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning as the host Hurricanes beat the Trojans. Manewa's game-winner came with two outs and two runners in scoring position.

In the second game, Kishti Kamaka pitched a five-hitter and Mililani scored in all five innings to earn the split. Kamaka, Jaimee Aiwohi and Courtney Senas each had three hits for Mililani.
