Weather suspends game in Nevada

The Western Athletic Conference baseball game between No. 23 Hawai'i and Nevada was suspended after the top of the second inning because of inclement weather at Peccole Park in Reno, Nev.
The game will resume with the start of the bottom of the second inning at 10 a.m., HST. The Rainbows were leading, 6-4.
The series was to conclude with a doubleheader today. The first game of the scheduled twin bill will follow the suspended game and will be nine innings. The scheduled seven-inning game is canceled. The WAC does not allow three games to be played in one day and since there is no home-and-home series, there is no way to make up the game.
"We're going to be one game short in league and that is a shame," UH coach Mike Trapasso said.
Matt Sisto will probably pick up today where UH starter Jared Alexander left off, Trapasso said. Alexander gave up four runs on five hits in the first inning after the Rainbows tagged UN starter Chris Garcia for three in the first when nine batters came to the plate and three in the second when eight batters came up.
Greg Garcia led off the game with a home run. Kolten Wong had three RBI, including a two-run double that put UH ahead, 5-4.
Trapasso hasn't decided on a starting pitcher for the second game.
"We gotta find a way to pitch better, not walk people and let 'em get their hits, I guess," Trapasso said.
