Honolulu's Taylor Ibera, from Hawai'i Tenri, won a bronze medal in the non-Olympic 44-kilogram (97 pounds) division at last month's Pan American Judo Championships in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Ibera, 17, won gold at the 2008 Pan Ams and was a 2007 and 2008 senior national champion.
Mindy Swanson, also from Hawai'i Tenri, lost her two matches in the Open division, where she was fifth last year.
The Pan Ams moved from May to March, so athletes were selected based on the USA Judo Senior Elite National Roster as of Feb. 16. The top-ranked athlete in each division was invited.
Honolulu's Derrick Kerr was one of the U.S. coaches. This year's USA Judo Senior National Championships are April 17 and 18 in San Diego.
