Hawaii to get $7.4 million for vaccine programs, childcare
The Department of Health and Human Services has awarded Hawai'i more than $7.4 million in stimulus money to help care for children and improve vaccine programs, U.S. Sens. Daniel K. Inouye and Daniel Akaka announced yesterday.
Through the Child Care and Development Fund, Hawai'i will receive $6,448,715 to support childcare services for more parents who are working, seeking employment or receiving job training or education.
The breakdown of the Child Care and Development Fund money for Hawai'i is as follows:
The state will also receive $988,990 for the HHS Immunization Grant program, which helps ensure that the underserved receive the vaccines they need.
