Browns' WR Stallworth to surrender in Fla. DUI accusation

By CURT ANDERSON
AP Legal Affairs Writer

MIAMI — Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte Stallworth is expected to be booked on DUI manslaughter charges.

Stallworth is scheduled to surrender Thursday on charges that he was drunk when his car struck and killed 59-year-old Mario Reyes last month. The charge carries a maximum 15-year prison sentence.

Prosecutors say Stallworth had a blood-alcohol level of .12, well above Florida's .08 legal limit. Police say Stallworth had been drinking at South Beach's Fontainebleau hotel in the hours before the fatal crash.

Stallworth is expected to be released on $200,000 bail.

The 28-year-old Stallworth signed a seven-year, $35 million contract with the Browns before last season. He previously played for New England, Philadelphia and New Orleans.
