Child & Family Service gets $25,000 pledge for shelter
Child & Family Service has received a $25,000 pledge from the Atlas Insurance Foundation for its capital campaign to build a new emergency shelter and transitional housing facility in West O'ahu for children and families experiencing domestic violence.
The project broke ground in March 2008 and is expected to be completed this spring.
Child & Family Service, which serves 40,000 people annually, is celebrating 110 years in the Islands this year. It is the state's oldest and most comprehensive nonprofit human services organization, providing critical services to children, the elderly and families in need.
The Atlas Insurance Foundation was established by Atlas Insurance Agency Inc.
