CFB: Nevada's Kaepernick named WAC player of the week

RENO, Nev. — Nevada quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who totaled 416 yards total offense and accounted for five touchdowns in the Wolf Pack's 49-27 win at UNLV on Saturday, has been named the Western Athletic Conference offensive player of the week.
Kaepernick ran 18 times for 240 yards and three touchdowns. The sophomore also completed 11-of-16 passes for 176 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions.
After Nevada fell behind 10-0 in the first quarter, he hit Chris Wellington on a 70-yard touchdown pass to get the Wolf Pack on the board. He opened the third quarter with a 66-yard touchdown run and added a 28-yard run in the fourth quarter.
He became the first Nevada quarterback to rush for more than 200 yards in a game.
