Man, 34, arrested in Kalihi shooting
A 34-year-old Honolulu man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder yesterday following a shooting that injured a 27-year-old man.
Jeffrey M. Tolentino, of an Ala Moana address, was arrested on Lima Street after the shooting, late on Friday night, police said.
Details were sketchy, but police said, the shooting stemmed from an argument between the suspect and several men in Kalihi shortly before midnight Friday.
A group was gathered in front of a residence when the suspect drove up and words were exchanged, police said. The suspect then drove about 100 feet down the street and stopped.
He then got out of his car and opened fire, shooting several rounds at the group, striking the victim in the leg, police said.
The suspect then left the scene. He was later identified and arrested. Tolentino remains in custody, police said.
