Hawaii couple accused of stealing $2 million in jewelry from a Bend home

Bend, Ore. police have arrested a Hawai'i couple on charges of stealing $2 million worth of silver, gold, rare coin and jewelry from the man's ex-step parent, police said.
Police arrested Dakotah Yarborough, 43, on Sept. 19 for investigation of burglary in the first degree, 10 counts of aggravated theft and for illegally obtaining contents of communication. When Yarborough was arrested, police said, he was allegedly in possession of a large amount of the stolen property in a rented vehicle. Police believe Yarborough was trying to bury the stolen silver - about 1,200 pounds - on the west side of Bend, Ore., on National Forest land.
The stolen silver, gold and rare coins and jewelry are believed to belong to a person known to Yarborough, Bend police said.
On Wednesday police in Redwood City, Calif., arrested Connie Yarborough, 38, wife of Dakotah Yarborough, on charges of investigation of first-degree aggravated theft, in connection with possession of stolen property. Yarborough is being held on $522,500 bail in Deschutes County Jail and his wife is being held at the San Mateo County Jail on Bend police charges.
Following the arrests, police obtained a search warrant and seized property from her home believed to be related to the burglary.
Police began their investigation on Sept. 8.
