CFB: UCLA fullback Theriot out for season

LOS ANGELES — Starting UCLA fullback Trevor Theriot will have surgery for a torn ligament in his right knee and miss the rest of the season.
An MRI on Thursday revealed the injury. Theriot, a redshirt junior, hurt the knee in practice the previous day.
Used almost exclusively as a blocker, Theriot has not carried the ball this season, but he did catch one pass for 5 yards. Sophomore Tobi Umodu is listed as No. 2 fullback.
The injury-riddled Bruins, who already were missing their first two quarterbacks and recently have been without their top two tailbacks, play No. 25 Fresno State at the Rose Bowl on Saturday afternoon.
